When it comes to superheroes, their special powers range from over-sized brains to bone busting power. When these top 10 most powerful superheroes show up to save the day, comic book readers feel like cheering. These are my favorites in ascending order with the reasons that they made it into the Top Ten
1. Thor
Born from Nordic gods, Thor personifies strength and power. His skin, muscles, and bones are stronger than anyone else’s and ripple with strength. As the son of Gaia, he literally controls the Earth.
2. Superman
Even though there are other Super Heroes who may have greater skills and strengths than The Man of Steel, he retains his number two position by virtue of being the first of the super heroes. Longevity has to count for something. He still retains the ability to fly faster than a speeding bullet and has been a perennial fan favorite for
generations.
3. Goku
Sent as an infant after the destruction of his race, the Saiyans, his mission was to destroy the Earth. He has developed fighting and distraction techniques that make him impossible to defeat. When he performs the Dragon Fist move, he literally changes his fist into a dragon as he punches his opponent. During this deadly move, his opponents are either impaled or devoured by the ferocious dragon that he wields.
4. Silver Surfer
The Silver Surfer is an alien who lives for and fights for the ability of everyone to live a good life. With powers approaching that of a god, he dips into the cosmos to sense energy patterns from everywhere in the Universe. His silver skin feeds him by absorbing cosmic energy while providing a strong barrier of invulnerability. He draws from the Power Cosmic and is able to manipulate both matter and energy. With limitless stamina, he is a powerful force to be reckoned with.
5. Dr. Strange
At the start of the Heroic Age brought by The Fantastic Four, Dr. Strange largely kept to himself. But circumstances threw him together with them and they soon began to cooperate with him often providing consultation when it came to the power of magic. His powers and mastery over magic exceed those of all others. That same mastery leaves him open to weakness since he must recite the incantations and movements to create the spell.
6. Sentry
We all know how much power is contained within the core of the sun, but Sentry has within himself the power of ten million suns. As one of the strongest beings alive in the Universe, Sentry is limited by his mental stability or he would have appeared higher on this list of the top 10 most powerful superheroes. He exhibits invulnerability which is good because his body can concentrate energy to emit light and high energy blasts. When under extreme stress, his psi powers kick in and he can even bring the dead back to life.
7. Franklin Richards
Franklin Richards came into his super powers naturally; he was born into the First Family of Superheroes with Mr. Fantastic and the Invisible Woman of the Fantastic Four as his parents. This youngster was able to channel his psi force and warp the very nature of reality from a very young age. His has the ability to alter fundamental forces to create change over the entire expanse of the universe. At number seven of the top 10 most powerful superheroes, we can only imagine what life must be like with his abilities.
8. Flash
Sometimes half the battle is being there on time. The Flash really shines in this area since he moves with super speed powers. Moving this quickly wouldn’t be possible without the ability for rapid healing as he moves through space-time, an elevated sense of perception to avoid upcoming hazards, and the ability to use the speed-force for sustenance when necessary. Fortunately, The Flash works for good or we would never know just what it was that flew by.
9. Black Bolt
During his scientist mother’s pregnancy, Black Bolt got a heavy-duty jolt of the Terrigen Mist. It’s mutagenic properties gave him superpowers that allowed him to harness the energy of the universe, manipulating sound with the potential for great destruction. He has superhuman stamina, strength, durability, and reflexes which make him an awesome opponent during the many battles he has been forced to engage in. No shrinking violet, he can transmute materials by rearranging the atoms within.
10. The Green Lantern
When it comes to the power of will, The Green Lantern outshines everyone. He possesses a ring that is limited only by the strength of his imagination and his desire to make something happen. For Hal Jordan, gaining mastery over that ability to channel pure energy takes a lifetime during which he flies through the air and battles evildoers everywhere. He embodies willpower.
