When it comes to games, everyone plays them!  It doesn’t matter if you are a video game player on a platform like Xbox, Sony or Wii, or if you enjoy playing PC games on your computer or laptop.  If you love PC games and you want to find out some of the top games you might be missing from your armory, here are the BEST PC games of all time!

 

1- Sims 2

Believe it or not, Sims2 is the top selling game of all time.  It sold well over 20 million copies which is why this game makes it to the top percentile and the top of the list.  Sims and Sims 2 is a really fun game because it allows you to play a strategic game as well as a simulated life game.  Beyond the game itself being so much fun and so popular, Sims 2 also released 8 DLC packs which are pretty unheard of when it comes to platforms like Xbox and PS3.  Like its predecessor, you can play this game however you want and you don’t have to have the same predetermined goal as all of your friends. Most of the Sims has goals, desires, needs and fears and the choices you pick for your sim will have different outcomes. The Sim2 is the Best PC games of all time because it sold 1 million copies in the first ten days of its release which is why it is the $1 best selling PC video game of all time.

 

2- Minecraft

if you have an Xbox 360 this game might sound really familiar to you as it’s an Indie game in the marketplace.  As a person that plays games, I thought I saw it all and this would just be another block building phase.  But, Minecraft has become one of the top selling PC video games of all time and it doesn’t seem to be letting off of that title anytime soon.  Minecraft lets its users build, essentially, their own worlds.  You can build your world out of all sorts of different textured cubes, colored cubes and material cubes like wood, glass and metal.  It’s essentially a 3d world and it’s pretty amazing!  This game can be a little complex though, so as long as you are patient, surely you can figure it out. Mine craft has received all sorts of awards for its game including five different awards from the 2011 Game Developers Conference.  In 2012, Minecraft was also awarded the Golden Joystick Award; in 2014 they sold well over 14 million copies on PC and upwards to 35 million copies which is why its one of the Best PC games of all time.

 

3- World of Warcraft

If you are into PC games and looking for the Best PC games of all time, then it should be NO surprise that Wow is one of the best selling PC games of all time!  World of Warcraft or Wow for short is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) created by Blizzard Entertainment.  Some people love this game (they sold over 14 million copies) and some people, well, it’s just not their cup of tea.  If you like something like Mass Effect or Halo you will most likely end up liking this game.  WOW takes place within a world called Warcraft or Azeroth.  Beyond the actual game itself there were also several different expansion packs that were released which probably helped sales quite a lot considering people love something new introduced to them.

 

4- Diablo 3

Yet another great game brought to you by Blizzard Entertainment; D3 is the 3rd installment of this franchise and has made well over 12 million dollars for their game.  In D3 you get to take your pick as to one of the five characters to choose from. Each of these 5 characters has one goal in mind:  to beat Diablo aptly named the Lord Of Terror.  The game might sound pretty simple, but as it is #3 you know it’s a great game to choose from.  In fact, while all of these games are all best sellers, D3 is the fastest selling PC game.  It sold over 3.5 million copies in just 24 hours!  It was also the best selling game of 2012.

 

5- Half Life 2

Many people know this game from video game platforms, but it was also featured as being a popular PC game as well selling over 12 million copies since its release in 2011.  This is a first person shooter as well as a single player game.  This game is accredited for its acclaim for offering advanced graphics, amazing sound, unreal animation in the game and for having a really great story narrative to go along with everything else.  The game actually won 39 game of the year awards since it has come out as well as Game of the Decade.  It’s still quite popular on PC as well as Xbox 360 and probably will be for years to come and be known as one of the Best PC games of all time.

 

6- Starcraft

If you ask almost anyone that likes PC games, what the most popular PC game is; they will most likely have Starcraft in their list of games.  This is yet another popular game brought to you by Blizzard Entertainment and was specifically designed and developed to be released on Windows PC. Starcraft had over 11 million copies sold and is praised for its ability to allow people to play real-time game play as well as have a very compelling story to match, which is always important when playing any game!

 

7- Battlefield 2

If you ever played a platform version of the Battlefield series on something like Xbox 360 or Playstation, you know it’s a great game with a lot of fans (pre battlefield 4 that is).  BF2 is brought to you by Dice and is the third game in the series.  Unlike a lot of the other first person shooters out there like Call of Duty Black Ops 2 or Call of Duty Modern Warfare, BF2 allows the player to play ON the actual battlefield.  You don’t get a lot of features like the call of duty games like scavenger or quick reload.  It’s you, your guns and the battlefield.  Like most of the Battlefield Games, this one made quite a mark which is why it’s on this list.  It sold over 11 million copies when it was released in 2005 and is still considered one of the best games of the series.

 

8- Counterstrike

This is another first person shooter, but originally it was JUST made as a modification for Half Life.  The game was so popular, that the developers and publishers decided to actually release it on Microsoft as an actual game instead of a mod as a part of another game.  The game became so popular and played so much that it actually became its own franchise.   While the other games on here may have sold more copies and may be higher up on the list of the Best PC games of all time, this one old sold about 4.2 million, it’s still talked about as being one of the best first person shooters out there for PC.

 

9- Theme Park

Theme Park is unlike any other PC game out there because it allows users to both design and operate an entire amusement park.  The game, which launched in 1994, has sold over 3.5 million copies and includes a few other series including Chris Sawyer’s Rollercoaster Tycoon.  Theme park is a lot like Minecraft in that you are given a plot of land.  With this plot you need to build an amusement park that is not only fun, but one that you can make money from as well.  The money you make is then spent on more rides, fixing rides, paying staff members and more.  The whole goal to this game is to make the parks value and the land value go up.  You can also hire various staff and employees for the park.

 

10- Far Cry

If you play Xbox 360, this game is probably pretty familiar to you, or at least the name of the game is!  This is another first person shooter published by the popular Ubisoft who also brought games to you like the Rainbow Six series.  In the first 4 months that Far Cry was released it sold over 730,000 games and has since then sold over 2.5 million units since 2004.  The game revolves around a US Army Special Forces operative; Jack Carver.  Jack is in search of a famous female journalist that he was supposed to be escorting safely when she was kidnapped and went missing.  This game was widely talked about because of the graphics; mainly the terrain in Far Cry.  It’s set in the South Pacific, and the landscapes as you would assume includes, deep dark rainforests, beautiful serene beaches, mountainous canyons, swamps and more.
